Good morning, Tiger Fans,
Powered by Paul Skenes’ complete-game performance and a quartet of home runs, LSU blew past Mississippi State, 12-1, in a seven-inning run-rule victory. Simply put, it was utter domination.
The game couldn’t have started any better. Paul Skenes set the tone by striking out the side in order in the top of the first before LSU leadoff hitter Gavin Dugas stepped up to the plate and sent the first pitch he saw over the left field wall. Just like that, it was 1-0 Tigers.
By the time the second inning was over, Skenes had struck out all six batters he had faced and was enjoying a five-run lead, thanks to back-to-back jacks by Brayden Jobert and Jordan Thompson, a triple by Dugas and a sacrifice fly by Tré Morgan.
