Five-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr., considered the nation’s top prospect at his position, signed Wednesday with Alabama.
Surtain, who also is a top-10 prospect overall, long had been considered an LSU lean, though there had been some reports Tuesday night and early Wednesday that he was wavering. He ultimately chose the Tide in a huge recruiting win for Nick Saban over Ed Orgeron.
Alabama lost its top six defensive backs from its national title team, and it’s certainly not a stretch to think Surtain will start this fall at cornerback.
