LSU’s 2018 recruiting class was slightly disappointing. The Tigers had the nation’s No. 15 class, which was good for just fifth in the league, and it was the first time they finished outside the top 10 since 2012.
LSU signed only three players in the national top-150, and while they reeled in nine of the state’s top 14 players, the Tigers managed to land just three of the top seven.
That makes the 2019 class an especially important one for coach Ed Orgeron. In addition to missing out on some in-state stars in 2018, the Tigers didn’t sign a quarterback and five-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr.
