Baton Rouge Catholic defensive end Aaron Moffitt, son of LSU strength coach Tommy Moffitt, pledged to the Tigers following the weekend’s “Bayou Picnic” recruiting event. Moffitt (pictured above with LSU assistant Bradley Dale Peveto), a three-star recruit, becomes LSU’s 11th commitment for the 2017 class.
“I thought about it really hard,” Moffitt told my radio show. “I was like, ‘Man, there’s nowhere else I want to go.’ ”
On its face, it is a little odd that Moffitt, a three-star prospect, would shut down his recruitment just as it was getting ramped up. After elbow and thumb injuries cost him his first two seasons of high school football, Moffitt’s breakout junior year was just starting to get national attention.
