LSU’s rich tradition of sending long snappers to the NFL continued Saturday afternoon as the Miami Dolphins took former Tiger Blake Ferguson in the sixth round, 185th overall.
After older brother and current Buffalo Bill Reid Ferguson left LSU, Blake took over long snapping duties in 2015 and was a four-year starter. He was considered the top long snapper in America his junior and senior year of high school. Ferguson was invited to the combine in Indianapolis and was thought to be the long snapper with the best chance of hearing his name called.
Ferguson was a permanent team captain in both 2018 and 2019, and is involved with several charitable causes.
