BATON ROUGE -- Home games against Alabama, Ole Miss, Missouri and Mississippi State highlight the 2016 Southeastern Conference schedule for LSU as the league announced the conference slate for all 14 member institutions on Thursday.
LSU opens SEC play on Sept. 17 against Mississippi State in Tiger Stadium. The Tigers travel to Auburn the following week on Sept. 24 before hosting Missouri on Oct. 1.
The Missouri contest will be the first between the teams since Mizzou joined the SEC in 2012. LSU and Missouri have met just one other time in football, that coming in the 1978 Liberty Bowl where Mizzou posted a 20-15 win.
