’09 ‘Magnolia Bowl’ memorable because of clock management

The LSU-Ole Miss rivalry doesn’t get the attention it once did, but the passions run deep. I had my first Death Valley experience in 2008. While inside the stadium, I had a group of LSU fans dump a bag of trash over my head as I was heading toward the bathroom — and before the game even started. This isn’t to bash Tigers fans, but rather to show how true rivalries bring out the unexpected. I always like to believe that the Rebels sought vengeance on the field for me that season, whipping the Tigers 31-13.

But my favorite Magnolia Bowl memory comes from 2009 in Oxford, when the “Mad Hatter” couldn’t quite manage the game clock.
