Three-star quarterback Myles Brennan (Bay Saint Louis, MS) was the first quarterback to commit to the LSU Tigers in the 2017 class, but four-star Lowell Narcisse committed just over a week after Brennan. However, Brennan is still firm in his commitment.
“It really doesn’t matter to me at all,” Brennan said, via 247sports. “That’s one thing we talked about with the coaches. They need depth with this 2017 class and felt like it was one of the most important positions in this class. And I will go out and bust my butt each day to make me and him better teammates. Competition, that’s anywhere you go, even if they don’t take two quarterbacks in a class.
“I just feel like sometimes people aren’t patient enough. They want to cruise in. My brother and my dad and my mom all played college sports, and I’ve seen a lot of experiences through them. I am in no rush to do anything. It’s college, so I will take it one day at a time and enjoy every moment. I know I have to earn a spot, and my only goal is to win LSU games and a national championship.”
Brennan said he has stayed in constant contact with the coaching staff since committing in April, which is a big reason why he's sold on LSU.
“I talk to Coach [Les] Miles probably twice a week,” Brennan said. “I go back and forth with Coach Cam [Cameron] on Twitter a lot and stuff like that. I’ve definitely been keeping in touch with them, and I’m excited about it. Every time the thought of playing in Death Valley comes to mind, and being at LSU and close to home with all that support, I could not have asked for anything better."
Brennan is ranked as the No. 17 pro-style quarterback and No. 374 overall prospect in the country.
