The season doesn't start for the LSU Tigers for several months, giving the Tigers plenty of time to focus on recruiting. LSU has turned up the heat in recruiting during the offseason, and it's already paying dividends. Here are the latest news and rumors surrounding LSU football recruiting:
LSU In Mix For Four-Star WR
Jacob Copeland is the No. 38 recruit for the class of 2018 and the No. 3 WR. After a weekend visit, the Tigers are still in position to land him. Copeland trimmed his list down to 10, according to 247Sports, and LSU made the cut. Although LSU isn't the front-runner for Copeland at the moment, he did spend multiple days on campus. Miami (FL) and Florida State are the favorites to keep Copeland in-state, but don't count out the Tigers.
Four-Star Brothers To Visit
Jordan and Joshua Moore are four-start recruits for the Class of 2018 and hail from Texas. Both can play WR and DB, but Jordan is listed as the No. 7 safety while Joshua is the No. 9 WR in the country. The brothers will visit LSU's campus Thursday, reports 247Sports. While the Tigers have a chance with the Moores, it will be an uphill battle. Their mother went to Texas and the Longhorns are the early favorite.
Four-Star Commit Enjoyed Visit
Offensive lineman Edward Ingram already committed to LSU (over the likes of Alabama), but the Tigers wanted to make sure he's a firm commit with his visit over the weekend. It seems they succeed.
"I feel like I’m home when I’m at LSU," Ingram told 247Sports. "It’s great. I can’t wait to be in that purple-and-gold and playing for the Tigers. The entire weekend over at LSU was fun, and I enjoyed participating in the camp and learning from those guys. It was just what I wanted out of it."
The four-star Ingram is the No. 183 overall recruit in the country, the No. 10 offensive guard and the No. 30 player from the state of Texas. It sounds like there's little chance Ingram won't be at LSU next year.
