The LSU Tigers turned up the heat on the recruiting trail during the offseason, and it's already paying dividends. Here are the latest news and rumors surrounding LSU football recruiting:
CB target commits to LSU
Nadab Joseph (Miami, FL), one of LSU's top targets in the 2018 class, committed to the Tigers on Saturday after they officially offered him a scholarship, according to 247sports.
"Once they told me that I committed on the spot," Joseph said. "I really liked the 1-on-1s and 7-on-7s we did there. The coaches there made it fun. [Defensive backs] Coach [Corey] Raymond is really good. I like is energy.
"LSU is getting a guy that's going to stay motivated. I'm going to keep going. I'm a big safety that can track the ball and move well. I can control the (defensive) backfield."
Joseph is LSU's fifth commitment in the 2018 class.
3-star LSU commit to flip to Mississippi State?
Three-star running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (Baton Rouge, LA) committed to LSU in February, but he may be wavering on that commitment. He visited Mississippi State this weekend, and came away impressed with what he saw.
"It's my first time up here and it's amazing," he said, via 247sports. "The facilities and coaches here are amazing. The whole coaching staff has talked to me 1-on-1 and talked to me as a group. They were telling me how I would fit in with Mississippi State's offense with their inside and outside zone and being at the running back and receiver position, just moving me around like I do at Catholic right now."
Edwards-Helaire admitted he was interested by what Mississippi State has to offer, but said he is solid on his LSU commitment.
The 5'7", 191-pounder is ranked as the No. 26 running back and No. 394 overall prospect in the 2017 class.
