LSU travels to Texas A&M for an SEC matchup on Thanksgiving.
This game pits two teams who have had up-and-down 2014 seasons, as both teams have pulled off upsets over a top-5 opponent, but each team is just 3-4 in the conference.
Records:
LSU: 7-4 (3-4 SEC)
Texas A&M: 7-4 (3-4 SEC)
Last Meeting: LSU won 34-10 in 2013
LSU Outlook: The Tigers upset Ole Miss when the Rebels were #3 in the nation, but now LSU has dropped two straight games, including an embarrassing 17-0 loss to Arkansas last week.
The Tigers are bowl eligible, but their 3-4 conference record doesn't inspire much confidence, especially if they drop a third straight game on Thursday.
The defense remains a strength, as that unit has given up just 16.4 points per game. The offense however has become an issue, as they've scored just 23 points combined over the Tigers last three games.
Texas A&M Outlook: The Aggies went from one of the top teams in the nation, to looking completely lost during a mid-season three game slide. A&M got back on track by upsetting previously #3 Auburn, but then dropped a home game to Missouri.
The Aggies have stuck with freshman Kyle Allen at quarterback, and he has shined at times, throwing for 884 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Texas A&M has ridden both Allen and former starter Kenny Hill to the 10th best passing offense in the country (321 yards per game).
What to watch for: One of these teams strengths is going to be put to the test, as the Aggies offense takes on the LSU defense. The flip side to this matchup is a wash, as the Tigers offense and Aggies defense have each been weak recently.
A low-scoring game will favor LSU, but a shootout favors A&M.
Prediction:
LSU - 20, Texas A&M - 27
The Aggies are playing slightly better on both sides of the ball coming into this game, as LSU's offensive concerns likely hold them back from winning this one.
