The LSU Tigers' 2015 recruiting efforts cast a wide net, with the #5 recruiting class in the nation bringing home five-stars at cornerback (Kevin Toliver II) and wide receiver (Tyron Johnson), along with a bushel of three and four-star talents ready to make an impact in Baton Rouge.
While head coach Les Miles only brought one quarterback in with the crop above (Justin McMillan), 2016 promises to be a quarterback-crazy recruiting season for the Tigers. With that in mind, here's our LSU Football: Top 5 2016 QB Recruits To Get To Know.
Feleipe Franks (Crawfordville, FL)
The only commit on this list, the four-star dual-threat standout offers an amazing package of size (6-foot-5, 220 lbs) and speed/escapability. It's for that reason why Franks is consider the #1 dual-threat QB in all of the Class of 2016 by the majority of recruiting analysts. Franks has offers in from 18 other schools, with in-state Florida State presenting the biggest flip danger heading into the long offseason ahead. He has been pledged to the Tigers since last June, however, so don't get worried as of yet.
Shea Patterson (Shreveport, LA)
Here's the wild card. Patterson is a true five-star in every sense of the word, possessing the arm and natural pocket instincts of a breakout star in waiting. 247Sports has LSU has the current runner-up for the nation's #3 pro-style QB and #18 overall prospect (behind Ole Miss), but expect the Tigers to use their home-state advantage liberally to keep him withing Lousiana's borders. Patterson's going to be one of the most coveted signal callers in his class when all is said and done, and LSU has as good a shot as any to bring him into the fold.
Dwayne Haskins (Potomac, MD) 
A little bit undersized for his frame (6-foot-2, 185 pounds), Haskins has plenty of growth potential both physically and from an in-game perspective. That upside has made him a hot commodity on the recruiting trail, already garnering him 36 offers, including one each from favorites Ohio State and Maryland. LSU is currently behind the pace on Haskins, but can easily make up ground with so much time until next year's National Signing Day.
Jawon Pass (Columbus, GA) 
LSU has the #1 dual-threat QB in the land (Franks) already committed. If Franks is somehow flipped, meet Plan B. Pass is ranked as the #2 dual-threat signal caller by 247Sports, and possesses a similar frame (6-foot-5, 213 pounds) to Franks. Mutual interest between the Tigers and the Georgia native is lukewarm at best right now, but he's a legitimate and talented backup plan in case things go awry elsewhere.
Avery McCall (Dillon, SC)
Keeping with the dual-threat theme, McCall ranks 15th in that category because he lacks the size of a guy like Franks or Pass. However, the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder has plenty of speed and craftiness to go around, and may be vastly underrated when it comes to his pocket instincts. The 3-star South Carolinian would be a depth signing for LSU as of right now, but could become a key target with a blockbuster senior year at Dillon High.
