The Loyola women’s volleyball team (4-2) defeated Marshall University 3-0 Saturday afternoon in the final game of the Hampton Inn Rambler Challenge.
“Marshall is a very fiesty team and I thought we did a good job of really staying composed,” head coach Amanda Berkley said after the game. “We improved as the match went on too. I’m very impressed with the team this weekend.”
The Thundering Herd took an early lead in the first set, but the Ramblers retaliated behind senior outside hitter Morgan Gresham’s seven kills. Loyola went on two different scoring streaks in the first set.
