The Loyola women’s volleyball team failed to capitalize off its strong first set and fell to Stephen F. Austin State University 3-1 at Gentile Thursday night.
Senior outside hitter Quinn Spieker recorded a double-double on the night with 14 kills and 17 digs. First-year outside hitter Addie Barnes led the team with 16 kills and also contributed 12 digs to record a double-double.
“I thought we came out [to start] the match really strong,” Loyola head coach Amanda Berkley said. “The second set is where we’ve got to match [the opponent’s] level of intensity and then our passing broke down in the second set.
