The Loyola women’s volleyball team (9-7, 3-0) hosted Fordham University in its Atlantic-10 (A-10) home-opener Sept. 30 in a packed Gentile Arena, beating the Rams 3-0. After losing players to injuries the last few weeks, the team was back in full-force against the Rams.
The first set started in the hands of Loyola, after a three point rally consisting of points from kills by junior outside hitters Karlie McNabb, and Emily Banitt. A service ace by sophomore setter Bree Borum followed to extend the Ramblers’ lead. Loyola held its lead for the first half of the set until an attack error and a Fordham block gave the Rams the chance to tie the set at 10 if they scored.
