Women’s Soccer Falls to Illinois State 3-2 in Overtime

The Loyola women’s soccer team (6-6-1, 3-1-0) fell to Illinois State University 3-2 in overtime at Loyola Soccer Park for its first Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) loss Saturday night.

“Obviously a disappointing result, but I thought it was a really good performance by our girls,” Loyola head coach Barry Bimbi said after the game. “Illinois State is a well-coached team with quality players, and they made us pay for a couple mistakes we made.”

Loyola sophomore defender Jenna Ross opened up the scoring in the 50th minute with her first goal of the season after an assist from senior forward Madison Kimball.
