One week after losing to Purdue University, the Loyola women’s basketball team (6-4) fell to University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) 88-74 at Gentile Arena Sunday afternoon for its second consecutive defeat.
Loyola committed 18 turnovers on the day — 14 of which came in the first half — and UMKC scored 24 points off those miscues. The Ramblers were led in scoring by sophomore center Kat Nolan, who put up a career-high 17 points on a perfect 8-for-8 shooting.
Sophomore guard Ellie Rice contributed 15 points while grabbing a season-best eight rebounds.
“We need to take care of the basketball better,” Loyola head coach Kate Achter said after the game.
