Loyola women’s basketball senior forward Allison Day and graduate guard Bre Hampton-Bey recently joined Loyola’s 1,000-point club — becoming the 27th and 28th players to achieve this feat in the university’s history, respectively.
Head coach Kate Achter said the milestone speaks to the importance of the duo to the team’s offense.
“It’s one of the few times you get to feel validated that isn’t a win or loss,” Achter said. “You feel wonderful for them because you know there’s more life lessons in a thousand points than just the number itself, it’s based on hard work and dedication.
