What went down: The Loyola women’s basketball team (5-18, 3-9) returned to Gentile Arena winners of two out of its last three games to take on Valparaiso University Sunday afternoon. After holding a lead for more than three quarters, the Ramblers surrendered 30 points in the fourth quarter to fall to the Crusaders 63-53.
How it happened: Loyola opened up the game on a 7-0 run and stretched the lead to 25-16 at the half. Loyola’s lead grew to as large as 12 points in the third period, but Valparaiso slowly chipped away the deficit to take its first lead of the game at 42-41 with 6:20 remaining in the fourth quarter.
