For the second time in four seasons, the No. 8-seeded Loyola men’s basketball team advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. Despite a close game March 19 with the No. 9-seeded Georgia Institute of Technology, the Ramblers rallied ahead to a 71-60 win.
The Ramblers were led by senior guard Lucas Williamson who scored 21 points on 8-for-13 shooting. Four other Ramblers scored in double digits — redshirt sophomore guard Braden Norris and seniors Cameron Krutwig and Keith Clemons added 16, 12 and 10 respectively.
Georgia Tech was led by senior guard Jordan Usher’s 15 points.
