Loyola men’s basketball head coach Porter Moser was named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Coach of the Year, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.
Moser is the fourth coach in MVC history to win the conference as a player and a head coach. He played at Creighton University from 1985-89. After joining Loyola in 2011, Moser has accumulated a 114-110 record.
Moser is the first Loyola coach to win conference Coach of the Year since Gene Sullivan won the Midwestern Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year award in 1985.
After finishing 18-14 overall and 8-10 in MVC play last season, Loyola came back to go 25-5 overall and 15-3 in conference play this season.
