As the youngest starter of the No. 14 Loyola men’s volleyball team (8-5, 4-0), redshirt first-year opposite hitter Parker Van Buren has made a noticeable impact in his debut season on the court — one of the best first seasons in program history.
The opposite hitter is off to an almost unrivaled first-year in men’s volleyball program history, only compared to Thomas Jaeshcke, who was part of the 2014 and 2015 national championship teams. Van Buren averages 15 kills per game and a hitting percentage of .348.
Van Buren, 19, is currently playing in his first season despite coming to Loyola during summer 2020.
