The No. 12-ranked Loyola men’s volleyball team (1-4) dropped its fourth consecutive game after a 3-0 loss to No. 14-ranked Pennsylvania State University Friday night at Gentile Arena despite senior Kyle Piekarski’s return to the lineup.
Loyola head coach Mark Hulse said Penn State and its physicality proved to be a challenge for his team.
“We played really well early, but we got a bad break,” Hulse said. “The bad guys were better in the first, and then we didn’t respond to that especially well. The rest of it was over pretty quick.”
The Ramblers and the Nittany Lions battled back and forth in the first set, but the Ramblers ran out of gas.
