The Loyola women’s soccer team (10-6-1) clinched a spot in Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Tournament championship game with a 2-1 win over Illinois State University (ISU) Friday night. The Ramblers are now one win away from their first NCAA tournament berth since 2007.
“I know our girls are battle tested,” Loyola head coach Barry Bimbi said after the game. “From the preseason schedule we played and going through conference play, I knew they would stand up to the task.”
The team got off to a fast start in the first half as senior forward Madison Kimball turned in a Lindsey Hardiman pass from six yards out to make it 1-0 in the seventh minute.
