MVC Championship Includes Former Co-Workers, Siblings and Big Stage Experience

No. 1 seed Loyola (27-5, 15-3) is scheduled to play in its first Arch Madness championship game against No. 3 seed Illinois State University (18-13, 10-8) March 4 at 1 p.m. The winner gets an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

There is much more at stake than just an NCAA tournament appearance. Loyola and Illinois State have a history rich with storylines.

Loyola head coach Porter Moser coached at Illinois State from 2004-07. While there, he compiled a 51-67 overall record and a 22-50 conference record. Moser is looking to become the second coach in Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) history to win the conference tournament as a player and as a coach.
