Men’s Soccer Falls to Central Arkansas 2-1 in MVC Tournament Championship

The Loyola men’s soccer team (10-7-2) was defeated by University of Central Arkansas 2-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Tournament championship game Sunday afternoon in Evansville, Indiana. Since joining the MVC in 2013, this was the Ramblers’ first appearance in the MVC Tournament title game.

The Ramblers clinched a spot in the championship after a 1-0 victory over Drake University in the conference semifinals Nov. 9 as junior forward Aidan Megally scored an extra-time game-winning goal in the 108th minute off an assist from senior forward Alec Lasinski.

The Ramblers fell behind early as Central Arkansas forward Niklas Brodacki converted from the penalty spot in the 17th minute after a foul in the box by Loyola junior goalkeeper Josh Lagudah.
