While it may not be surprising for the Loyola men’s golf team to post strong finishes to start their fall season, what is surprising is they’ve managed to do it with half of the roster, consisting of first-year players playing in their first-ever college tournaments.
While four of the team’s golfers are seniors and graduate students — including senior Timmy Crawford — the other four are playing at the collegiate level for the first time. Crawford said it’s been a new experience golfing with two or three first-years every week.
“It’s kind of an interesting team dynamic,” Crawford said.
