After making it to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament last year, the Loyola men’s basketball team was left off the first Associated Press (AP) poll of the 2018-19 season.
The rankings are compiled by polling sportswriters and broadcasters from across the nation. Each voter provides an individual ranking of the top 25 teams in Division I basketball. The individual rankings are then combined to produce a national ranking.
The University of Washington — who was picked as the No. 25 team — received 165 votes. The Ramblers received 162, meaning they missed out by three votes.
