The Loyola women’s basketball team (4-3, 2-1) locked down Valparaiso University on the road in a 53-36 victory Jan. 19. Valparaiso entered the game leading the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) in three-pointers made per game, but Loyola held the Crusaders to just 1-for-25 shooting from downtown.
“That’s a good old-fashioned butt whooping right there, and those aren’t fun to go through,” Valparaiso head coach Mary Evans said.
Loyola’s senior guard Bre Hampton-Bey led all scorers with 11 points. Junior forward Allison Day scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, notching her second double-double of the season.
