The Loyola women’s basketball season is almost here. After nearly a decade in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), the Ramblers will have a new set of opponents after moving to the Atlantic 10 (A-10).
Former Loyola University Chicago President Jo Ann Rooney announced the university’s move to the A-10 on Nov. 16 of last year, saying it is one of the top conferences in the NCAA and succeeds in both athletics and academics. Rooney said she hopes moving to the A-10 will garner Loyola more national attention.
With the new scenery in the A-10, Loyola will see a much more challenging set of opponents with the move to a higher-ranked conference.
