The Loyola women’s basketball team’s (15-11, 6-9) second-half comeback came up short as the Ramblers fell to Drake University 83-75 at Gentile Arena Friday night. Sophomore forward Allison Day tied her career-high with 20 points, including going 12-for-14 from the free throw line.
After a neck-and-neck first quarter, Drake outscored Loyola by 11 points in the second period to take a 13-point lead into halftime. The Bulldogs’ lead stretched to 16 points with 5:39 remaining in the third quarter, but the Ramblers ended the period on a 17-7 run to cut their deficit to just six points, 62-56.
