The Loyola women’s volleyball team (15-10, 7-6) defeated Southern Illinois University 3-0 at Gentile Arena Oct. 29.
“Really proud of the team to win a gritty match, I wouldn’t say that we won our best but they made the plays when they counted,” head coach Amanda Berkley said after the match. “Points 20 and on I think that’s where we stepped up and made the plays.”
All three sets went back-and-forth, but the Ramblers heated up as the match went on and came away with its 10th sweep of the year. Junior outside hitter Quinn Spieker finished with 12 kills and 14 digs, marking her ninth double-double of the season.
