In the Atlantic 10 (A-10) Championship semifinal, the Loyola men’s soccer team defeated Duquesne University 1-0 in Pittsburgh Nov. 9. The Ramblers advanced to the A-10 Championship final thanks to senior midfielder Marc Torrellas’ second half goal.
Duquesne kicked off the match by booting the ball into Loyola’s end of the field, but the Ramblers’ defense kept the Dukes away from their goal. In the first minute, junior midfielder Julian Cisneros ran down the field and took a shot from outside the box, but it was saved by Duquesne goalkeeper Domenic Nascimben.
Not slowing down, Loyola recorded five corner kicks and two shots in the span of five minutes.
