After jumping out to a 22-2 lead to start the game, the Loyola men’s basketball team (14-3, 9-1) coasted to a 72-46 victory over Missouri State University Jan. 31 in Springfield, Missouri. With 18 points for the Ramblers, senior center Cameron Krutwig moved up to No. 7 on Loyola’s all-time scoring leaderboard.
Loyola head coach Porter Moser said he thought his squad’s defense early on “set the tone” for the rest of the game. He added that despite the strong start, a first-half lead never feels safe.
“We know they can get going,” Moser said about Missouri State’s offense after the game.
