The Loyola women’s volleyball team (15-11, 7-7) lost to Valparaiso University 3-2 at Gentile Arena Nov. 2.
After coming out to a hot start and taking the first two sets at 25-15 and 25-22, the Ramblers ultimately lost the remaining three sets 25-16, 25-20, and 15-12.
After the match, Loyola head coach Amanda Berkley said the Ramblers had chances to stay ahead of the Crusaders, but they couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities.
“We just didn’t match [Valparaiso’s] play and didn’t get kills in the end when we really needed it,” Berkley said.
After take the early lead, Berkley said the Ramblers couldn’t get enough defensive stops to seal the deal.
