After 104 minutes of hard-fought soccer, the Loyola women’s soccer team (13-3-2) couldn’t hold off No. 24 Purdue University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in West Lafayette, Indiana Nov. 13.

The Ramblers fell to the Boilermakers 1-0 off a goal in double overtime.

After winning its fourth consecutive Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) championship Nov. 7, Loyola was selected to play No. 24 Purdue in the NCAA selection show Nov. 8.

“I’m just kind of gutted for the team,” Loyola head coach Barry Bimbi said in the postgame press conference.
