Led by five players in double-digit points, the Loyola women’s basketball team (3-2) flew past Chicago State University 76-40 at Gentile Arena Monday night.
First-year forward Allison Day led Loyola with a career-high 17 points to go with five rebounds while first-year guard Janae Gonzales had 13 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore forward Abby O’Connor and sophomore guard Ellie Rice each scored 11 points. Junior guard Tiara Wallace recorded her second career double-double, tallying 10 points and 10 rebounds.
“We really emphasize doing it together,” Loyola head coach Kate Achter said after the game. “It’s not just necessarily just one kid that we expect to carry the load.
