Defensive midfielder — and rising star — Aly Kilburg, 18, is one of the Loyola women’s soccer team’s (8-6-1) six new players this season.
Head coach Barry Bimbi said Kilburg has a certain “it factor” on the defensive end that led to her getting more playing time.
“We slowly worked [Kilburg] into the lineup because we knew she was a talented player,” Bimbi said. “She has a really good sixth sense at reading the game and anticipating the opponents next pass. She’s always there to break up the play and counterattack.”
After missing the first six games due to a minor ankle injury, Kilburg said she looks to continue to bring energy and intensity to every game.
