The Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) dropped the first round of its all-conference awards March 1. Four members of the Loyola men’s basketball team saw appearances on the list, including graduate guard Lucas Williamson.
Williamson was elected the 2021-2022 Defensive Player of the Year to become the sixth person in conference history to receive the award more than once after being given the same honor last season.
The Chicago native finished third in player of the year voting with four first place votes, falling behind University of Northern Iowa’s AJ Green — who received the title for the second time in his career — and Missouri State University’s Isiaih Mosley.
