Diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis at age 11, former Loyola forward Nick DiNardi faced the fight of his life from a young age. Despite this, he was determined the battle wouldn’t define him as a person or as a player on Loyola’s men’s basketball team.
A two-year walk-on for the Ramblers, DiNardi graduated in the spring of 2018 and has since turned his focus to spreading awareness of the disease he’s learned to live with. He created the Bigger Than Basketball Foundation after graduation, which held an inaugural silent auction event after Loyola’s 75-50 win over Southern Illinois University Jan.
