The Loyola women’s soccer team (6-4-2, 2-2) fell to Davidson College 1-0 Sept. 29 at Loyola Soccer Park. The Wildcats scored their goal on their only attempted shot of the match, while the Ramblers only recorded one shot on goal in nine attempts.
Davidson kicked off the game by sending the ball deep into Ramblers territory and applying pressure with its offense. Struggling to fend off the Wildcats attack, Loyola sent the ball out of bounds five times within the first four minutes of the game.
In the fifth minute, the Ramblers were able to find their rhythm when senior defender Olivia Knab kicked the ball in stride from outside the box, wide of the goal, to record the first shot of the game.
