Loyola women’s golf coach Carly Schneider was fired Wednesday morning for unknown reasons, sources close to the team tell The PHOENIX. The school has not confirmed.
As a student-athlete at Loyola from 2010-14, Schneider tallied an 82.4 stroke average. She was hired as the Loyola women’s golf coach in 2016 to fill a position that had been left empty since 2012.
The Ramblers finished tied for fifth at the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) championship April 15-17 — their highest finish at the tournament — and are expected to return seven golfers to the roster next season, including All-MVC golfer Elayna Bowser.
