The Loyola men’s basketball team (18-5, 9-3) fell to Bradley University 68-61 Feb. 9 in Peoria, Illinois to put the Ramblers in second place of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) for the first time in the season. Led by Zek Montgomery’s 12 points, the Braves’ bench contributed with 37 points compared to the Rambler’s 20 in a thrilling match with five ties and 10 lead changes.
Coming into the game, Loyola stood atop the MVC conference with a record of 9-2 with a two win streak against Illinois State University and Missouri State University. Losing the first game of the series against the Ramblers, the Braves looked to avoid being swept at Loyola for the fifth place in the MVC.
