The Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) is one of the most defensively competitive conferences in NCAA Division I basketball. With five of its teams ranking in the top 150 Division I scoring defenses, including Loyola at No. 26 — second only to No. 14 Southern Illinois University in the conference. Three-pointers are more difficult to score in the MVC, but have become difference-makers for the Loyola men’s basketball team.
Against non-conference opponents — including NET ranked No. 9 Auburn University, No. 27 University of San Francisco and No. 29 Michigan State University — Loyola shoots a solid 39.
