The women’s beach volleyball team defeated a pair of opponents on Thursday, topping the squads from Cal State Northridge (1-4) and Vanguard (2-3) in Northridge. LMU swept both matches, five sets to none. With the two wins, the U.S. No. 13-ranked Lions improve to 5-1 this season, making it the strongest start for the team in its eight-year program history.
In the first match of the day, LMU dominated the Matadores of Cal State Northridge as all five pairs won their matchups. Junior Savannah Slattery and sophomore Reka Orsi Toth dominated in the No. 1 competition against CSUN’s best, defeating their pair in two sets, 21-14, 21-17.
