Women’s basketball faces Central Arkansas in the first round of NCAA tournament

By Sam Draut–

With the luxury of playing on its home court, the University of Louisville women’s basketball team opens the first round of the NCAA tournament against Central Arkansas on Friday at 2:30 p.m. The third-seeded Cardinals (25-7) host what could potentially be the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament at the KFC YUM! Center.

While Louisville enters the NCAA tournament winners of 22 of its last 24 games, Central Arkansas (28-3) travels north riding a 9-game winning-streak. The Southland Conference tournament champions did not have any mutual opponents with Louisville this season, but the 14th-seeded Sugar Bears do have a compliment of experienced players on the roster.
