It was a game Louisville could have won. Should have won. But the Cardinals made enough mistakes in losing a heart ripping decision to Wake Forest.
Break….With the ball at the Louisville one-yard line on third down just Wake Forest decided to run the ball instead of go for a field goal. The Cardinals stopped Wake Forest short of the goal line as the clock lands on zero.
However, the officials after a lengthy review said Deacs quarterback Sam Hartman called timeout with one second. Television replays showed Hartman didn’t turn to the official until zero’s showed on the clock for the timeout.
