This morning, behind Grawemeyer hall on the patio of the Schneider Hall fountain, the university solemnly commemorated the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
UofL president Neeli Bendapudi gave her remarks, and Gary Lewis, Chief of University Police, also made an appearance.
Incorporating red and blue colored ink and the Schneider Hall fountain, performers put on an artistic ceremonial performance remembering those that lost their lives in the attacks.
The red and blue ink reflect the bipartisan efforts and lives involved on 9/11, and the two colors blended into a purple, changing the fountain’s color, to reflect upon and remember the bravery of the first responders, armed forces, and civilians involved in the attacks.
