Through a series of college protests over the past few weeks, there has been an interesting display of conflicting complications. While many of these complications are completely founded, another suggests a darker, more dangerous side of the issue.
On November 19th, University of Missouri president Tim Wolfe stepped down amid protests alleging he failed to properly address racial tensions that had risen to a boiling point on campus. After a series of racially charged incidents on campus, Wolfe’s administration lagged in administering an official response or course of action, resulting in the call for his resignation.
Even closer to home, as many of us already know, U of L’s own President Ramsey has been under fire for appearing in a photo dressed in stereotypical Mexican garb.
