2015 was a big year for the University of Louisville Foundation. Just to refresh your memory, the board is a non-profit organization made up of 15 board members who delegate endowments and money collected through fundraising to U of L. Back in the summer of 2015 though, the Foundation came under so much scrutiny that a state auditor was sent in to check things out.
State Auditor, Adam Edelen, was sent to investigate the Foundation after one of its own requested the audit – Steve Wilson. According to Insider Louisville, “Wilson’s request came after months of agitating by some trustees for a stronger governance structure within the board, and for greater oversight of Foundation and university functions.
